A full-day safari focused entirely on Minneriya’s extraordinary elephant population, structured around the afternoon when activity at the reservoir lakebed is at its peak. Between August and October, the Gathering draws 200 to 300 wild elephants to the exposed lakebed simultaneously – one of the most spectacular wildlife events available anywhere in Asia. Outside of Gathering season, Minneriya remains one of the island’s most consistently productive elephant parks throughout the year.
